I bet you a wagon could easily get just as good if not better MPG. Especially if it's diesel. :D

I think the XV is just overburdened by lack of power. I don't know why they won't put more power in it, I mean my Focus has more power and it's smaller and lighter. Oh and a silly name, just like the B9 Tribeca...

33? The manual ones have shit gearing, and really dont get that good mileage. My dad has one, and drove it across the country twice already.

I dont consider it a wagon because of its proportions, but what it really needs is a better trans, and then it could be doing better mpg.

Other wagons when driven gingerly could certainly come close. Ive read that magnum owners have been able to see 26 on longer highway drives, thanks to the MDS system. A 5.7L HEMI getting mid 20s in the MPG department, yes. A good diesel should absolutely be able to do much better, I agree. 328d wagon is what comes to mind first.

I like how the XV looks, it just needs more power.

A WRX engine would do it good. Like, really good.
